To develop and implement the Agency’s National Strategy for the Development of Statistics in line with the integrated Results-Based Management approach and to conduct the national census or any other census and surveys in terms of the Census and Statistics Act [Cap 10:29] of
2007. Provide advice and be a focal point on all matters related to statistics to the Government, private sector, general
public, international agencies and other stakeholders and coordinate and supervise the National Statistics System (NSS).
Develop and promote the use of statistical standards and appropriate methodologies in the National Statistical
System. To establish the necessary structures and mobilise resources to facilitate the collection, compilation, analysis
interpretation, publishing and dissemination of statistical information alone or in collaboration with Government Ministries and other institutions.
